Connection and Belonging

A close-knit school where learning is engaging, relationships are strong, and children feel supported

Learn more About Our Values

St. Matthew’s is a small, vibrant co-educational primary school with eight single-stream classes from Junior Infants to Sixth Class.

Although under Church of Ireland patronage, we welcome children of all faiths and none

Here, every child is included and valued just as they are. We want them to feel happy - that they belong.  That’s why we put wellbeing at the heart of school life, nurturing a warm, child-centred environment where learning and personal growth go hand in hand.

Whether in the classroom, the playground or our lively extra-curricular activities, we make sure your child has everything they need to flourish, academically, socially and personally.

From the Principal

It is my great pleasure to welcome you to St. Matthew’s National School

St. Matthew’s is a wonderful place to work and a happy place to learn

Our warm, welcoming culture is a product of our dedicated staff, supportive families and, of course, our amazing pupils. We never tire of seeing them flourish and enjoy their time with us. We want school to be a great foundation for whatever lies ahead for them.

That’s why we’ve made wellbeing such a central theme here. We believe that happy children thrive in and out of the classroom. To show our commitment to holistic development, we work hard every day to create a warm, inclusive, nurturing culture where every child feels valued and a sense of belonging.
